Why we exist

Give geek culture more space on Reunion Island

The association wants to give geek, otaku and Japanese cultures more space without erasing Reunion Island’s identity. Its project connects public interests with artists, creators and cultural organisations across the island.

This mission can take many forms: events, workshops, meet-ups, exhibitions, introductory content and projects about gaming heritage. Every project must remain accessible, useful to the island and faithful to the people bringing it to life.

A new association

What guides our first projects

Founded on 6 February 2026, Shonen Kiltir is in its first year. The association does not present its plans as achievements. It moves forward one project at a time, with clear information about what is confirmed and what is still being prepared.

Before announcing an activity, the association checks its usefulness to the public, its feasibility and its fit with Reunion Island. This prevents premature announcements and gives each project the time it needs.
